Rognvald became part of the firm in 1985 and became a partner in 1997. He became senior partner on the passing of his dad,
the late John Muir Mason in January 2011. Rognvald has a strong loyalty to the firm of Waddell & Mackintosh and is very
proud to be part of the great tradition of the Firm.
Rognvald is an experienced practitioner in Wills, Trusts, Executries, Powers of Attorney, residential and commercial conveyancing and matrimonial work. He is now at the stage in life where he is very proud to see clients coming in the door who are the grandchildren and great grandchildren of historical clients. Rognvald is very proud to have modernised the offices at 36 West Portland Street, Troon and our other office at 29 Ayr Street Troon. In his spare time Rognvald enjoys music and is a bass player in the Scottish Fiddle Orchestra. He is a founding member of the Scottish Fiddle Orchestra from its creation in 1980. |

Darren joined the firm in 2015 and has become a respected specialist in dealing with executry estates, both in instances
of testate succession (where a deceased individual has left a valid Will) and intestate succession (where no Will has
been left). Darren has a number of published articles, relating to executry practice, and has been called upon to
speak in the community in matters relating to Wills, Guardianships and Powers of Attorney. Apart from his executry
work, Darren is also our court practitioner and provides clients with support in relation to: conveyancing, both
residential and commercial, commercial leases, issues concerning residential leases, Powers of Attorney, and Guardianships.
Darren has taught executry practice to trainee solicitors, at the Royal Faculty of Procurators in Glasgow, for a number of years. Furthermore, Darren holds the office of The President of the Scottish Law Agents Society. This Society was incorporated by Royal Charter in 1884, and seeks to represent both solicitors and their clients, in terms of issues relating to the law, and in particular issues relating to conveyancing. Darren is very proud to hold the office of President of such an esteemed organisation. Outside of work, Darren enjoys the sports of golf, football, rugby, kayaking and skiing. |

Andrew qualified as a solicitor in 1990 and has practised widely in virtually all areas of civil litigation. He is a solicitor advocate
and he has appeared in both the Court of Session and many sheriff courts. He also undertakes guardianships, powers of attorney, wills
and executry work.
Andrew was President of the Glasgow Bar Association in 2018/2019, the only civil solicitor advocate to be elected to that office. He is currently the Secretary of the Scottish Law Agents’ Society. Andrew has written many legal articles. He is a columnist for The Scotsman. Also, he has spoken at seminars on civil court procedure. Andrew is a vice-convenor of the Discipline Tribunal for Church of Scotland ministers. He is Secretary of the Scottish Solicitors’ Benevolent Fund. He is accredited as a family law specialist by the Law Society of Scotland and he is also a member of the Society’s sub-committee on charity law. In his spare time Andrew is a Scout leader, a hillwalker and an avid philatelist. |

Zoe joined Waddell & Mackintosh in June 2021 and completed the professional traineeship through the firm.
Waddell & Mackintosh are proud to have Zoe Samaras as their new solicitor with the Firm. Zoe has strong family connections to the town and went through school in Troon before going to Strathclyde University where she completed both her Honours LLB and the Diploma in Legal Practice. Zoe enjoys dealing with the clients of the firm and helping them through their legal work as smoothly as possible. Zoe understands the firm was established in 1893 and looks forward to working in the well-established firm of Waddell & Mackintosh for the future. Zoe is a very experienced Scuba Diver and in her spare time enjoys attending the local gym. |
